Max Web Directory

There are a lot of Web Directories out there. Max Web Directory is one among them. Unlike most web directories, it is a human edited free web directory. I like the way their site looks very clean and simple. Navigating through categories is quite easy. Their front page contains the last 5 latest links along with a short description about each link. It also has details about the number of clicks and comments for those links. Yes it seems you can actually comment about the links which I haven’t seen in a lot of web directories. Oh yea the page rank of the links are also displayed with a small PR toolbar.

According to their website they have a total of 752 links in a total number of 1655 categories. Submission to the directory is free and is quite easy. All you have to do is choose a suitable category and sub category then suggest your link. Approval is also quite fast usually within 24 hours or less. Some of the categories require reciprocal linking. They have a decent Alexa Rank but 0 Google PR as of now. Am sure their PR will increase over time considering reciprocal links that will be coming in. Apart from being a web directory, they also have articles on how to increase PR and SEO’s. Overall it seems good so am going to try and suggest my blog.

My project review

Yesterday I had the first review for my project. In the zeroth review I presented my idea which they accepted. I am working on wireless electrodes for EMG which we later hope to convert to ECG and EEG. So during the zeroth review all I was able to present was my idea so that I can
go on to the next stage after they approve. However my staff weren’t satisfied and said I should have presented some circuit. They wanted something innovative so I just had to present the idea but it looked like everyone presented some sort of circuit! But from where?

Anyway so this time around I decided that I will work on a circuit and calculated all the component values and presented them. This time again my HOD said there is nothing new about my project. I didn’t understand what he was looking for so I said yea its a collection of existing technology into a new idea. Then he kept repeating the same thing. Later I realized that he was saying I haven’t done any work on hardware. Again college just opened 1 week back so I am going to start on my project only now so how can he expect any thing other than the circuits?

See the above circuit? What will you do when someone claims they did every bit of it by themselves in one month time and took a photo of it? Well if you were my HOD you will accept it and target students who are actually trying to do all the work themselves. What’s more annoying is that they claimed they had did all the work on two such circuits where they just need to place a 8051 micro controller and start programming it. I had an idea of doing all the circuits myself but since its clearly not necessary I might as well buy them!

My Results are Out

My college released the last semester results today morning at around 12:15 am. I don’t know how people came to know about it but they seemed to have messaged me immediately. I only saw about the results today morning. I didn’t particularly do well this semester. Also my internals were quite low this time around since I didn’t attend a month of college and also missed out on tests and assignments. Most of the staff gave me only 12 or 13 on 30. So I knew my marks were going to be pretty bad.

I was surprised to see that it had gone down in almost all subjects even the ones in which I had got decent internals. My college gives only grades and calculates the total as GPA(Grade Point Average). My GPA came around 7.88 only. My CGPA is around 8.57 and I usually don’t worry about my marks but this time it will affect my application process and bring down the required CGPA for some of the universities I have applied. I am thinking about applying for revaluation for most of the subjects and luckily I have some amount of money at hand so I don’t have to ask my mom for it.

Does the name George Lindemann Jr sound familiar? No he is not the character from Heroes. He is one of the members of TakingITGlobal from California.
